**Context**

The Private Sector Partnerships Division (PSP) sits within the Strategy and External Engagement (SEE) pillar under the overall oversight of the Director General and direct oversight of the Senior Director, Strategy and External Engagement. PSP builds partnerships with the private sector that enable IOM's strategic plan and engage the private sector as a key stakeholder in migration through impactful and innovative partnerships to build sustainable migration systems that uphold the rights and dignity of migrants and host communities and to support IOM’s work in emergency support for displaced people. PSP leads strategic outreach and engagement with the private sector while providing Headquarters, Regional and Country Offices with guidance and support relating to initiating, establishing, and maintaining partnerships with the private sector in a well-coordinated manner. PSP is responsible for the development and implementation of IOM’s Private Sector Strategy, which provides a framework for how IOM engages with the private sector to support safe, orderly, and regular migration. PSP oversees engagement with the private sector; companies, foundations, individuals, and philanthropic actors. PSP establishes and oversees all processes including but not limited to the governance, due diligence and engagement process of all private sector actors.

Under the overall supervision of the Director General and direct supervision of the Senior Director Strategy and External Engagement (SEE), the Director, Private Sector Partnerships Division will be responsible and accountable for the following duties:

**Responsibilities**

1. Develop and oversee the implementation of a global private sector strategy that aligns with IOM’s strategic plan and will deliver desired fundraising targets to increase year on year revenue from the private sector.
2. Lead the outreach and engagement with the private sector; companies, foundations, individuals and philanthropic actors; ensure sound governance and stewardship processes and system are established and maintained.
3. Oversee the development of technical support, capacity building and overall coordination on private sector engagement across key markets, Regional and Country Offices (i.e. training, webinars, knowledge sharing tools including CRM).
4. Ensure development and maintenance of frameworks to enable compliance with ethical standards and manage the risks associated with private sector engagement (e.g. due diligence and Instructions to govern private sector engagement)
5. Establish and oversee frameworks for innovative and impactful engagement with the private sector that upholds the rights and dignity of migrants and host communities.
6. Provide authoritative and expert advice to the Senior Director of SEE, IOM’s Leadership Team on effective private sector engagement and fundraising strategy and implementation.
7. Manage the administrative and operational resources of the PSP Division in accordance with IOM’s rules and regulations, ensuring efficient resource allocation, performance management, and results-based planning.
8. Represent IOMs private sector engagement in senior-level meetings and international fora, including with Member States, UN leadership, international organizations, and strategic partners.
9. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

**Qualifications**

**Education:**

- Master’s degree in International Studies, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with fifteen years of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

**Experience:**

- Demonstrated experience in multi-million dollar fundraising and partnership building with the private sector in a not-for-profit or international organization with proven success in mobilizing financial resources from corporations and philanthropic foundations;
- Demonstrated experience in communicating and engaging with private sector and philanthropic leaders on a wide range of institutional issues and programmatic areas;
- Extensive and recent experience in establishing global private sector fundraising systems, processes, and management including developing processes, procedures, and techniques to enable successful resource mobilization in different geographies and fundraising channels;
- Experience in setup and oversight of Goodwill Ambassador and Celebrity engagement programme;
- Operational experience in managing Islamic philanthropy initiatives is considered a significant asset for the positionAbility to make decisions and/or provide technical/substantive advice, based on sound analysis and information gathering; and,
- Experience with strategic planning and budgetary oversight.

**Skills:**

- In-depth knowledge of the role of the private sector in sustainable development, humanitarian response, and relevant migration related issues; including the role of CSR and ESG in partnership building and fundraising;
- Demonstrated management skills including with a large diverse team in different regions and geographies; ability to empower staff members to deliver outputs; ability to address challenges and conflicts as needed;
- Strong analytical, and problem solving skills; strong written and oral communications skills with ability to communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences; and,
- Ability to work independently against tight deadlines.

**Languages:**

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, and Spanish).

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
